Step by step
- You can work as a technician in Connecticut on your existing credential and education. Employers decide what they require; many will ask for the credential you hold and your VTNE.
- The voluntary CVT from the Connecticut Veterinary Medical Association is optional. It helps when you later move to a regulated state only in that it keeps your records current; the regulated board will still want your accredited degree and VTNE score.
- If you are leaving Connecticut for a regulated state, start the AAVSB score transfer early and expect the receiving board to ask for your transcript. An association certificate alone is not accepted in regulated states (Virginia says so in writing).
We have not yet read Connecticut's rules on the board's own site. The facts above are the AAVSB title and general practice. Use the board link, and if you find the hours and fees, email us so we can add them.
