Pay tools
Is that pay good, here?
Four tools built on the federal wage survey: the 10th, 25th, median, 75th and 90th percentile for vet techs and assistants in every state. Type your number and get a plain answer. Nothing here is a promise of what a clinic will pay; it is what the market paid in May 2025.

How these tools work. The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics publishes the 10th, median and 90th percentile wage for veterinary technologists and technicians (SOC 29-2056) and veterinary assistants (31-9096) in every state, and the full 10/25/50/75/90 ladder nationally, in the May 2025 OEWS release. We estimate each state's 25th and 75th by scaling the national shape to the state's own 10-to-median and median-to-90 spans, and we say "estimated" wherever that shows. Experience bands are an approximation anchored to percentiles, because BLS does not survey by years of experience. Cost-of-living adjustments divide a wage by the state's 2023 BEA Regional Price Parity (US = 100). Receptionists, practice managers and kennel staff get a national veterinary-services median only, because BLS does not publish them by state.
