Back Bay Veterinary Clinic is currently seeking a Certified Surgical Veterinary Technician to join our team. Qualifying candidates must be able to perform the following:

• Admit patients scheduled for surgery and dentistry
• Prepare instruments and know types of surgical instruments required for specific surgeries
• Prepare gown and surgical packs
• Prepare surgery suite for surgery
• Prepare instruments; know type of surgical instruments required for specific surgeries
• Surgical preparation of patient
• Anesthesia monitoring and maintenance of anesthesia machines
• Intubation
• IV catheter placement
• Drug calculations
• Assist veterinarian performing surgery
• Monitor patients waking up from anesthesia
• CPR
• Cleaning and scaling of teeth
• Transcription of prescriptions
• Gathering an appropriate medical history
• Excellent client communication skills
• Sample collection
• Dental and Body radiographic positioning
• Outstanding computer skills for electronic medical records

The ideal candidate will be able to work independently, possess interpersonal skills to develop long standing relationships with co-workers and clients alike. You must also display an innate capacity to provide attentive care to companion animals. Compensation is $30-$36 an hour based on level of experience and certification.
