Job description

Join a growing team in a modern, newly rebuilt hospital!

Animal Medical Center of Moss Bluff is expanding, and we’re looking for an experienced Veterinary Assistant to join our dedicated and compassionate team. We reopened in a brand-new, state-of-the-art facility in 2023, after our original hospital was destroyed by Hurricane Laura—and now we’re ready to grow with the right people on board.

Our hospital is a busy small animal general practice just outside of Lake Charles, LA. We handle everything from routine exams and wellness to more advanced surgeries. To support our expanding doctor team, we’re looking for someone with at least 1 year of hands-on veterinary assistant experience who can hit the ground running.

What We’re Looking For:

• Minimum 1 year of experience in a veterinary hospital
• Solid understanding of restraint techniques and animal behavior
• Familiarity with vaccination protocols, medications, and medical terminology
• Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
• A true team player who communicates well and brings a positive attitude to every shift

What You’ll Get:

• $10–$16/hour, depending on experience
• Full benefits package, including:
• Medical, dental, and vision insurance
• Pet care discounts
• Free flea, tick, and heartworm prevention for personal pets
• Three sets of scrubs provided
• Continuing education opportunities
• Monday–Friday schedule only – no weekends!
• Everyone works 4 full days and 1 half day, allowing for great work-life balance

Why You’ll Love Working With Us:

• We’ve cultivated a collaborative, respectful, and supportive culture
• Our lead tech provides great mentorship, and our manager, who has led the team for over 15 years, maintains an open-door, hands-on leadership style
• You’ll be joining a team where people truly enjoy working together and take pride in delivering excellent care

About the Area:

Located in Moss Bluff, just minutes from Lake Charles, LA, our community blends small-town charm with access to shopping, events, restaurants, and outdoor recreation. It’s an ideal place to live and grow your veterinary career.

If you're a Veterinary Assistant with solid clinical knowledge and a passion for teamwork and animal care, we’d love to meet you.
