Job Description What Makes Antioch Special Team culture is extremely important to us. We are looking for an RVT who wants to be part of a collaborative, supportive team where people communicate well, help one another, and take pride in the care we provide. We value teammates who bring solutions, stay curious, communicate respectfully, and contribute positively to the hospital culture. Antioch Dog & Cat Hospital is an established, full-service hospital in the Kansas City Northland with a loyal client base and a team that genuinely cares about our patients and each other. We were also recognized as a 2026 KC Best Silver Award winner for Veterinarian. The RVT We Are Looking For This position is especially well suited for an experienced, confident RVT who enjoys surgery and wants to take ownership of our surgical workflow. Our ideal candidate is someone who can: Lead surgical days and help keep the surgical team organized, efficient, and focused on patient safety. Confidently handle anesthesia induction, intubation, anesthetic monitoring, recovery, pain management, and surgical patient care within the RVT scope of practice. Recognize changes in anesthetic parameters and communicate concerns quickly and appropriately to the veterinarian. Help maintain strong surgical and anesthesia protocols, equipment readiness, controlled-drug processes, surgical flow, and patient safety standards. Serve as a resource and mentor for veterinary assistants and less-experienced technical teammates. Jump into appointments, diagnostics, treatments, dentistry, hospitalized patient care, and other technical areas when needed. Communicate clearly and respectfully with DVMs, teammates, and clients. Take initiative without needing to be micromanaged. Bring a team-first attitude and be willing to give and receive constructive feedback. Why Join Antioch? This isn't a position where an RVT's skills will go unused. We want our credentialed technicians practicing at the top of their abilities and taking meaningful ownership of patient care. You'll join a hospital that values high-quality medicine, teamwork, professional growth, and strong utilization of our technical team. For the right RVT, there is an opportunity to become a key leader within our surgery and technical workflow. We want someone who doesn't just ask, “What do you need me to do?” but also sees what the team and patients need and helps make it happen. ***$3,000 Sign on bonus for the right candidate!*** Your Impact as a Credentialed Veterinary Technician Note: The Credentialed Veterinary Technician title is used in various states based on state-specific licensing and credentialing requirements. Responsibilities may vary depending on the hospital and/or state and will be outlined by the state’s Veterinary Practice Act and/or the responsible veterinarian, where applicable. Be a Leader and Mentor: You’ll guide and support the medical team, ensuring an efficient workflow while mentoring others to help them grow their skills and careers. Partner with Clients: You'll be a key point of contact for pet owners, educating them on treatments, reviewing medical records, and confidently answering their questions. Contribute to a Positive Culture: You'll play an active role in training, providing feedback, and maintaining the high standards of our hospital environment. What You'll Bring to the Team Graduate of an AVMA-accredited Veterinary Technician program. A current state veterinary technician license in good standing. Proficiency in a range of technical skills, including nursing, surgery, dental care, radiology, and laboratory procedures.
